"This composition was taken from the same afternoon as Piedmont Spring Races, I. The day was warming and this horse was finished and headed back to the trailers with groom in tow.

I love this palette! I've noticed as I paint more and more that my palette reflects the current landscape whether I am painting a landscape or not. I spend so much time outside that the colors become a mood that follows me back to my studio. There may be indian yellow and purple in a summer painting but it is used in a different way to capture the season."
